Hi,

I have recently bought a 72 GT bug and the previous owner has fitted an adjustable front beam however the car is a little too low for my liking and I was wondering does anyone know how to adjust the beam to raise the car.

Many Thanks

Nice Ride dude...one of my first dubs was a Tomato Red GT....he was a nice ride ;)

Jack up the front of the car (Trolly Jack under front beam)
Place beam on axle stands
Loosen both top and bottom adjusters
Lift/lower wheels to desired height (second pair of hands is usefull so you can stand back and have a look while your mate holds the wheels in position)
Tighten up adjusters and your done.

If for some reason the height of the wheels will not move once the adjusters are loose then you may need to loosen the top of the shocks off.

Hope that helps...show us a pic....I like GT's :D

or while the cars resting on the axel stands on the front beam, jack up the wheels to the desired height, then tighen up the adjuster bolts, should be 2x 22mm headed bolts if its a new beam, but maybe a allen head if its a old style beam...
