Remember as a kid watching Star Trek? They had held devices and they could talk to each other and we all thought WOW! Computers were things that we only dreamt about.Tv`s were big brown boxes that you had to get of your arse to change one of the 3 channels and at midnight they played the queen. And if the tv broke down you thumped it,or your uncle came around with a biscuit tin full of valves?
What do we have now that as a kid you thought was impossible?
Is the future here?

you want to read brave new world revisited. that'll shit you up about the future/now.
I remember the first computer game I ever seen was Atari Tennis
and I can remember thinking "how do they do that?" We had to turn the buttons on the TV to tune it in. What would kids make of that now?

See less See more

they'd say "that's pish yah auld dick - are you a fuckin' paedo, yah fanny?"

then they'd run away. at least they would here.
Wii tennis isn't far off in terms of playability funnily enough.

Bluetooth earpieces are very futuristic, I could picture them on 'Tomorrows World' :D
Indeed, Atari Tennis was wonderful.
I remember getting Frogger as a kid, and was blown away by the use of colour, I think they had 16 colours to use. (May be factually incorrect, don't strike me down):incheek:

It was`nt that long ago you know.;)
I was watching one of Jeremy clarksons old documentarys on dave and it still pretty crazy to think that the big computer they had at Bletchly park took up an entire shed and stuff with more processing capabilitys can now be fitted into stuff that you put in you pocket.
mobile phones have to be one of the things that strike me as impossible when i was a nipper, the phone box was the thing, then you had to put in 2p per call  god i'm old

everything is so instant now, information at your fingertips and talking to people through a box full of wires and metal bits
It was`nt that long ago you know.;)
You sure or is your memory playing tricks on you again gramps?
