Jet Ski Advice

For next summer, I want to puchise a race tuned one, with 3 seats., Nice and stable, but must be fast!

I looked at this one , http://www.jetskier.co.uk/advertdetail.php?ad_id=1071 , but maybe I could do better.

Anyone know anything about Jet Ski's ? Any advice on what models to buy ?

i have only ever owned stand ups and boats, but imho buy a standard one as tuned ones are troublesome.i have had many js 550 sx's and 650's.buy a seadoo with a rotary engine, get used to it and then tune it yourself,so you can go as far as you like without compromising reliability.also make sure you buy one with low hours and service history.do your research and ask them about how they used to clean it out after taking in the sea which is very important.they need to be flushed out and cleaned after every time out, obviously because of the salt water.great fun tho
maybe you could find one for £50 in a scrap yard ;)
just like your porsche gt3
I've owed 3 yamaha jet ski's all sit down all purchased brand new. Personallyy would not want to buy second hand as they all get thrashed. Stay well away from tuned ones, do it youself if you want to tune at a later date. I've helped many jet ski's out while at sea and towed more seadoo's back to shore than I can remember, sorry but please do not buy a seadoo. Just my view of cause but they are not a ski worth spending your money on. We ran our first yamaha without even a survice for 3 years trouble free. Good luck they are great fun,
Hi. As with most things it depends what you wanna spend. Been riding stand ups for about 15 yrs but if I was to ever cross over to the dark side and get a sit down I'd have a good look at a Kawasaki 1200 stxr. Monster ski in standard form. Yamaha GP 1200 or 1300r also worth a look depending on how new you wanna go. Check here for great advice pwc forums .
jetman has a good for sale section on the home page
Good luck with what ever you decide. :hangloose
try a jestski forum - pwcforums.co.uk are pretty good...

dont listen to the seadoo haters either - ive had mine years and never had any probelms...its all down to regular maintenance like most things!

Thanks for all the advice! I've found a website, for brand new Yamaha jet ski's, they're about £5500. It's a three seater... 800cc. So if I do what my neighbour did, and got one like that, 2nd hand, race tuned ..... very fast **. I really want s Plaris .... anyone know what that is ? :incheek:
As mentioned earlier... Dont buy a modded one as the do become very very fragile. I currently have a Kawasaki 1200 (ZXI I think) and A yammy Waverunner 800. The 1200 blasts along at 70 all day long and thats about all the pounding my arms and legs can take. The Yammy is a little more civilised but still very quick for an 800..

I started of with a Seadoo XP (Black and yellow model) and that was one hell of a laugh for only a couple of grand..
sitdown jetskis are for the lazy and fat imho ive just got a yamaha superjet(stand up)and its head and shoulders above my kwak 750 and the 550 i had before that.

go stand up there more of a challenge and you wont have all your mates badgering you for a go as it takes a while to be able to do it.

The reason I need a sit down, is because I'll be looking to be going cross channel, with a few other people. And going to the IOW, etc etc. Stand up = Fall Off :D

I'm looking to buy one over the winter, winterise it, if it already hasn't been done. I might be able to pick it up a heck of alot cheaper if I do that
yep ...id recomend ta waverunner any day....

the kids loved it tooooooo
