I know a few of you know that i found my buses original owner Carol, thru the pink slip i got with my bus. Carol bought my 1969 Westy in 1970, and thru the letters and photographs she sent me i got a very happy picture of my buses life in the USA, She owned it for 33 years.

Carol had been ill for many years with a degenerative illness, and she told me several months ago when I first contacted her that it was terminal

She was overjoyed with the prospect of me restoring her bus, and we swopped many letters and photographs over the last few months.

I even got a 1970s Benos T shirt in the post yesterday (see logo on bus) posted before she became ill in late september

RIP CAROL GREENTREE AGED 74

Dear Gary,
I don't like to send such sad news in an email, but I thought it would be
best to let you know as soon as possible.

As you already know, Carol was ill for many years. I remember that she
shared some of her medical history with you and explained that her condition
had become very serious, so this may not be a great shock........just sad.
I'm sorry to tell you that Carol died in her sleep several days ago, on Sept
20th. She was in Hospice care at the time and it was a peaceful passing.

I hope you know what JOY you gave Carol by telling her about the van! She
was so excited when she received your original phone call and we had many
happy conversations about how wonderful the whole adventure had become.
Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to find her and stay in
contact. It really was more important to her than you can imagine.

We all wish you many great trips and happy times in the van. Carol's
daughter, Jenny #######, will be in touch with you soon to add her thoughts.

Best regards,
Dianne
