With difficulty! can either blast it and try and paint through with a flexi extension, or unpick the spotwelds on the lower grill panel, prep and paint it all then weld back in place and paint again through grills.
I did think about drilling out the spot welds then thought must be an easier way. But as usual not the case.

Lovely work.

Got some more paint on the shell last night. Inner wings, inside, engine bay and boot and underneath of the wings. No runs which was ace - especially as I had to do it with my glasses off (forgot the garage ones). Can now go back on the spare chassis to get moved for the rest to be painted.

Bit of an update. The bug is pretty much ready for paint outside. Just waiting for my mate to prep the bonnet hopefully this week.

Done 300 miles in the polo - all good, front exhaust down pipe started to blow so put a new one on. Other than that it's been spot on.

Took the side windows out of the t25 to find little rust which was nice. Heavily pitted bit lurking under the cover panel which was known about so that's been cut out and replaced. Bottom corner next week and that should be all welding done apart from bottom of front panel and a tiny bit on sliding door.

Mini's now fully welded up and prepping the underneath for stonechip and body colour over the top.

Bit more work on Clare's bug too - p/s heater channel (the jp ones are very good), front inner wing - there were 4 rusty layers, rear quarter done. Just digging out the death foam to sort wing mount panel then thats the p/s all done

Been priming the doors/bonnet/engine lid and the little bits and bobs for the bug this week after a couple of evenings a week doing final prep on the shell.
Hopefully all getting painted in mid november when a mate can slot it in.

Been prepping and painting the underneath of the mini too. Stonechip with inca yellow over the top of it. So that can now be rolled back over and the top side prepped (joy, not).
Getting withdrawl symptoms from my grinder.

Managed to get a few hours on the van tonight. Wasn't happy with the rear corner/arch join so remade it so the swages and height matched (the arch was too short).

Bottom middle of the front panel was missing when bought. Spent ages cleaning it up with a belt sander - grinder etc can't get in due to the lip. My mate made me the replacement panel (under the rad cut out) and managed to get that on. Windscreen out next as I suspect there's rot in the d/s corner.
