long or short axle

Anyone know if a 67 bug with 5 bolt drums is long or short axle. Think it was a 1200 model but not 100%.

thought short was up to '65?

Would I be able to fit a short axle and gearbox set up complete drum to drum into a long axle car??

'Short' is up to 66
'Short/long' (mid sized) on five bolt 67's
'Long' on four bolt 67's and all 68 and later.

Is the axle tube mounting to spring plate in the same??

Will my short axle setup go in if i swap everything from drum to drum?
