LOWERING SPRINGS

I bought these 2" lowering springs for my own car and then decided to use adjustable McPherson struts instead. They are a pair of brand new Jamex 2" lowering springs which cost about £60. These springs will fit any 1303 or 1303S Beetle.

THREE BOLT ADJUSTABLE STRUTS

I had these adjustable struts fitted to my 1973 1303 Beetle. They have the three bolt fixing of the earlier 1303 which you rarely see for sale second hand. These currently cost £150 per pair new, excluding shock absorbers (http://www.machine7.com/section.php?xSec=496 ). I have now replaced this pair with struts having the 2 bolt fittings used on the later model 1303, allowing me to fit Porsche stub axles and brakes. These struts do not include the two shock absorber inserts (which are bought separately anyway), I have reused mine on my new suspension arrangement.

PORSCHE TO VW WHEEL ADAPTORS

The alloy wheel adaptors are a bargain for someone who is prepared to put a little work in. They fit to any later Beetle with four stud wheel fixings (4/130), allowing you to mount Porsche wheels (5/130) onto the adaptors. Similar wheel adaptors currently cost £264 per set of four (http://www.machine7.com/section.php?xSec=642), and they are in steel, not alloy.
