Just fine tuning my newly built 2276 and changed the air jets as I wasn't getting enough power from 3500 rpm to 5000rpm.

First wide open throttle response was really good and suddenly it started miss firing and I slowed down as thought major engine problem.

So driving back home runs ok and strong until I hit 3000rpm then starts miss firing again. Back on the drive idles fine but misses above 3000rpm when revved. No visual signs of big trouble.

Does it sound like a internal mechanical failure or electrical problem. I checked the carbs and linkage and they seem fine.

009 with AccuSpark with MSD 6AL & MSD Blaster coil. Has been running fine during last couple of weeks tuning process.

Bypass that ignition with a basic 009 and give it a try. I spent hours messing with a backfiring engine, twas the msd box

Also, if you have a conventional Tacho fitted, try running with that disconnected from the coil.
