Hi All,
just found your site & after posting a bus for sale in your classifieds, I thought I had better contribute to this cool forum.

Here are my Split window busses. I purchased them like this, so take no credit for the restorations.

1955 March, Wolfsburg built bus. It has had a total nut & bolt restoration, to incredible detail. Running a single port 1600, with twin Solex cars off a typr 3. Has an L-Bug gear box, IRS & a 68 front balljoint & brakes. Drives so sweet. Interior is amazing.

1962. This one is running a 1600 s/p. Rest is all original, but with the high wall tyres & upgraded springs & shocks, she will sit on 65 - 70 mph all day.....just watch those corners!!!
I have had this since May & purchased her in QLD, then travelled 1700klm down the East coast of Australia to bring her home to Hobart, Tasmania.
This is when I picked her up....ugly mirrors, no Safaris!!

New Plates.

On a special photoshoot for an event I scored.

Has had a set of Creative Polished safaris fitted since.

Hope you like them.

The 57 recently sold & went to the UK.

sweet buses....not at all envious....nope, not a bit! :incheek: :D
Thanks guys. :)
I do love my busses. I am actually looking for a 21 or 23 window for my business. Then my garage will be complete. I have a very understanding & supportive Wife. Lucky bastard I am!!

Ah, I remember parking in that very spot in my bus (a bay which I now have in the UK) - I was forever popping in to the internet cafe in Salamanca Sq!
Hey Mate.
Nice down there, isn't it. Spent today chilling out at knoppies with a few kombi mates, drinking beer & getting some sun. Beautiful day. Feeling a bit scorched at the moment though!!
I know your bus. I have the book "Campervan Crazy", great story. Picked your bus as soon as I saw the avatar. That wheel on the front is cool.
