Super stuff, but can someone explain the engineering / dynamics reasoning behind the idea of raising the height of these 'gasser' style cars?

Or is it just for looks?

I'm guessing the car must have sentimental value for the owner, or they were just really bored :lol: chev II's are dirt cheap in much better condition!

interestingly, a lot of the 'modern interpretations' ;) run a moon fuel tank outside of the cars bodywork... which wouldn't have been allowed if i remember right (although it was legal to run the fuel tank in the passenger footwell... :eek: well, for one year until they outlawed it :lol: )

Also (and don't laugh at me!), why are they called "gassers" is it to show they ain't top fuel racers or sommat?
