New ignition leads. Is it worth getting posh ones?

I need some new ignition leads because I melted one by accident. Is it worth getting posh ones? Or are stock just as good with a Pertronix ignitor?

You asked this on another thread only earlier today. It is still on page 1 of mech tech.

You won't get a different answer a second time round.

Beru or Bosch stock leads are the way to go. The Pertronix ones aren't even incredibly good quality by most accounts.

I asked it a second time because this is after i melted one.

My question this time was, should I re-buy stock leads?
and you have answered my question now.
As above, but avoid the Chinese and Indian Bosch plugs. Beru z68 are better.
Check what you buy I bought some expensive stainless braided leads.

They look lovely and dont melt. The real problem is that they have a thin ribon in side them to conduct the current. This means you can easilly pull of the cap from the lead without trying hard. I have managed to repair them several times but to be honest they cost the earth so beware they could have been replaced many times for the same cost.

I've got Bosch and Petronix. No hassles with either. Avoid the cheap coloured ones, I believe they don't work well with the fancy Dizzy caps. I usually buy Bosch throughout. Plugs, leads, dizzy cap.
