Silly I know - but would you expect oil to escape from between the crankcase & the plactic spacer between the fuel pump, or the plastic spacer & the fuel pump?? Especially if the nuts are loose on the pump?

A friend seems to have oil spraying on to that side of the dizzy and off the top of my head I cant think where else it can be coming from!!

Any thoughts?

If the nuts are loose Yes.
There are gaskets on the top and bottom of the fuel pump intermediate flange, and they don't seal if the fuel pump is loose.

Thanks Lawrence - That is my thought - I dont know about the gaskets though.

The problem I think is because there is a 32/36 Weber carb fitted with that support bar to the front nut on the fuel pump. Therefore that nut is almost impossible to tighten up without removing the dizzy - my guess is that its finger tight!! Thats why it's leaking

Does this sound sensible??
