I love the monochromatic background (ie virtually devoid of colour, or one range of limited tones - in this case a blueish grey), and then suddenly the impact of the bright and vibrant balls (hair thingymabobies by the looks of it). They just jump out and shout for your eye's attention.
However, the focus is out, not on the balls - but in some weird way they are more vibrant for it.
One little touch I like - I'd guess an accident, is the approaching paws of the puss-of-doom that's come to play with them. Makes a sort of story (if that makes sense).
I have to say that MarkBirdy was a very very very very close second. I liked his sweet laces all week - but Kayla's image grew on me. I love the vibrant red and green colours mixing and intertwining with each other. Red and green are opposite colours on the colour wheel - and colour theory says that makes them clash in our eyes. Really makes them pop out at you. If more of them had been in focus (more depth of focus in the picture), it would've been more jumpy and shouty, and would have got my vote.
Others I liked are, jennybugs for orange, orange, and more orange, all shades of orange, and a nicely photographed orange flower - very nice composition. Pendrini - nice idea, and I was looking for the right subject myself to do a black and white colour photo. Just couldn't find the right subject. alexdundee for a neat idea too. wible for being nice and colourful, yet subtle sparkly colours. Westy77 - my third fave shot - wonderful image full of swirling colours.
And I could add a lot more about many others too, this week's has been a hard one to pick a fave - so many good photos.
