I had my bathroom done last year, it was on the cheap and I was happy with it considering the price paid.

But! The toilet seat won't stay up?! So when men use the loo it becomes a problem.

They wedged a bit of tile behind so the lid sits flush. If this is taken out and screwed in more the seat stays up..but the lid is then loose :(

Any bright ideas how to solve this problem? Even maybe making the toilet seat hinge stiff?!

lift the two 'silver' cover caps that are over the fixings that go through the pan. This gives access to the screws, loosen them a turn or two and then push the brackets as far forward as they will go, tighten the screws back up and put the caps back. :)

Hope this works [although it does look like a bathstore cistern/B&Q seat combo?].

I guess the tile has been put behind the cistern to keep it all at 90 degrees and prevent donut leakage?
