I have bought my first van, it is a bit dog rough, and the number plate lends itself to being representative to its condition and therefore name :D

I drove it all the way back from Oldham near Manchester yesterday, stopping for an hour and half for some food and a rest break, but it did it, plodding along at 50mph :)

Its now at my local MOT station waiting for a jobs list to be produced, but here are some photos i took of it this morning, and below them are the original photos off the Ebay ad...

Needs a good clean inside, and a few bits and pieces bolting down, the bed needs to be fixed before it can be used, but nothing major, it needs the speedo fixing and a few bulbs need replacing, as you can see from the pictures above there was some inventive filler work carried out at one point, but hopefully nothing too major lurks under there :D

May the Games begin!!

Jobs list:

Work for MOT
Fix bed and units
Wire up fridge
Fit stereo
Paint exterior

Hoping to get it usable for Flame and Thunder, but who knows... need money next ;)

im loving lt's at the mo, good find;)

ps - what happened to the top of your wing on the bug?? saw a crack in the paint at bugjam, but not near the indicator hole??

cheers james
i'm not sure :( looks like something has hit it from underneath, whether that was when a wing bolt was being done up or a stone i don't know?? but it looks like the filler has cracked beneath the paint... i will look and see if it is anywhere near a wing bolt.... will get it seen too when the show season is over :)

Cheers dude... means a lot

oooooo you joining the big boys club now too eh:incheek:

Hey it might be a DAWG but it'll be a dam sight better than that tent;):D
Tent on tarmac NFTW :( i don't mind being in a tent, but when its windy and there is no way of pegging your tent down it can suck... A LOT!!

Now, lets play guess the theme :incheek:

Had its MOT today, i will post up the full list another time, but the main things were the bottom of both the front springs were cracked so need replacing, and the offside ball joint in the drag arm in the steering needs replacing. It has a bit of a fuel leak too, but nothing that stops it running well, so must be in the return system.

All in all i am very pleased, all it needs is a bit of paint on the outside and a spruce up on the inside, and it will be a great van!!

Well happy :D

cheers dude :D

gonna start on it tonight, get the van cleaned out, and remove the sticky glue from where bits of carpet were stuck down in glove boxes etc, and replace a few bulbs for the MOT and get the washers working too.

i'll have to find my camera and charge it up as it is going to be picture intensive this project :elvis:

There should be a notice on the dash of Volkswagens of this nature saying:

Poke and ye shall find

I was tidying up the van, getting rid of what was left in the van from the previous owner, not of all it is being thrown away, a certain VHS is going in my personal collection  and while i was under one side of the bed i thought i would have a look and see what was needed to put it right Big mistake!! i found rot :(

so now i am missing one half of my bed, it needs a load of timbers removing from the wall and replacing with non rotten ones, AND most importantly, i need to find out where it is getting damp from and plug the hole, otherwise the problem will just reoccur

Nice eh :(

Stay tuned....
