Raising balljoint and IRS rear on a baja

Hi,

How high can you raise the front and rear of a baja on stock components? At what height do you need begin swapping the shocks and notching the springplates?

DON'T notch if you are using stock IRS arms and CV joints, the CV joints won't handle the extra travel.
This is as high as you will get on 'stock-ish' components:

Stock type 1 CV joints and stock type 1 length IRS arms. Balljoint beam raised with adjusters.

I have more pics of this era here: http://www.airsouls.com/firedancer/index_2004.htm

Thanks for your posts, they've been a big help. Checked out your pages on airsouls, nice baja! Given me lots of ideas there. :)

Good, that is what the website is there for. :D
Hi Seth,

With your extended balljoint shock towers, you mentioned you bought your kit from Kingfisher? Do you know if that's the same kit that Cip offers? See: http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ACC-C10-4180

You've got 8" shocks up front right? Are you using standard T2 shocks or uprated gas shocks like the KYB gas-a-just?

Whenever I go round a tight bend in my baja it rolls pretty badly given that there's no anti-roll bar up front and more or less stock at the moment. Does the increased torsion bar preload and stiffer shocks help counter this?

Cheers,
David
