Last weekend we went to Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth and had an absolutely top weekend. Loads of excellent shops (Oakley, Vans, O Neill, Mambo, Karen Millen, FCUK etc etc), a lot them are factory outlets. A huge number of bars and restaurants (Frankie and Bennys, Tiger Tiger, Pizza Express, Subway). Then theres the 14 screen Vue cinema, bowling alley. As well as boat trips round the Navy warships (HMS Invincible is there) and harbour, Sea Cat over to the Isle of Wight, and the Spinnaker tower which has a Glass floor you can walk on at about 300ft off the ground. Stay at the Holiday Inn Express and most of this is a 30 second walk from the hotel!!

Cant recommend it enough for a weekend away from dirty, rusty VW's to clear your head and get some retail therapy in.

Anyone recommend anything similar? Got a taste for it now!!

totaly agree we went there in the summer. also went to the historic docks and went on the HMS victory and saw the Mry rose etc etc. Just not enough time to take it all in. the marina at gunwharf keys has a puerto Banus feel to it!

PARIS. Went for a weekend. Eurostar and good hotel in Theatre District (not that I'm into theatre it's just handy to Metro and all things to see). Fantasic weekend. £200 total for 2 peeps, all in (barring food and drink).
