anyone got or had a go in an Altea?

Can you move the rear seats back to make more leg room etc or not?

I never really get how they can describe things as mini MPVs when they do nothing which makes them any different than being funny shaped hatchbacks.

Yep, I had one for a year, nice car really, the rear seats do slide back and forth, but you do end up with little boot space, which I suspect is why they brought out the XL version.

I had the 2.0TDi 140 (PD unit) if you caned it you got 35 mpg, if you took it steady you got 39 mpg. The older 1.9TDi and the new 1.6TDi are better on juice.

Overall I liked mine, but traded it a year in for another TDi New Beetle, because quite honestly I like gay cars :D

35MPG caning it is good in my book :D

Just looking at VW AG midsize options and hadn't even thought of the Altea, but noticed they were already going fairly cheap.

The moving rear seat is a definate seller to me...
