Sound System ideas?!

Whats your unusual/ingenious sounds setup in your VW? The whole sound system was taken out of my car before I got it so now I have a black hole in my nice blue dash and no speakers at all. Im in two minds whether to forget it altogether and listen to the exhuast roar instead, or, hook up my iPod to some neat speakers?! The hole in the dash bugs me!
