anyone got any tips for removing and replacing the starter motor bush as i no longer have the correct tool as my friend broke the tool when he last used it and what oil due i soak the bush in thanks bulli

thanks moby for the quick anser much appreciated what oil do i soak the bush in as its a few years since i last did one

or, you can make your own little tool if you dont have/cant wait for those above.

due to the starter bushes "ovalling" when they are worn, if you put a couple blobs of weld on the sides of an appropriately sized bolt, you can slide it in, past the bush and twist 90^ so its gripping on the less worn part of the bush. then with a nut over a large washer (like on the proper tool) you can wind it out.

not a very good method, but when you're in a rush, you dont have the tools and nothing is open, it can work!
