Spotted this with my brother yesterday on the way to the DVLA. I was following the car for about 15 mins before I clocked it!

That's a 300bhp 3.0Si.

I had one as a demonstrator for 6 months. Serious piece of kit that.

Seriously expensive piece of kit that is..
Mmmmmm I *heart* those things. I'd have one in white, with old-skool BMW M-Division stripery. Deffo not the most perfect number plate ever  :D

It's relative I suppose. As premium brand sports cars with 300bhp go, the're somewhat of a bargain.

Much cheaper than a Cayman for example.

Hang on, I sense a debate coming which I can't be arsed getting into....
What's so perfect about the plate?
I suspect the OP is referring to the NOB bit and rienforcing the long held perception that people who drive BMW's (like me) are nobs?

That's waht it looks like anyway. If I'm wrong, no offence intended.

...thats something thats often levelled at BMW drivers...its usually after a beemer has left them for dust..;)..

Or more commonly after one has dived out of a far too small gap/ dived into a far too small gap/ gone right from the left lane/ assumed the breaking distance at 70mph is 3feet/ parked across two spaces in a full car park etc etc, delete as applicable.

Exactly the same as the drivers of just about any other car

..:lol:i don't doubt crap drivers of ALL cars have done the above...

but,i'd say on a fast road/motorway you are least likely to get held up by a BMW..everybody else just gets in the way it seems..at least beemers are usually hoofing it..;)

Knob?

I had a 5 series a while back, I'd have another tomorrow.

I heard the other day they have a new one with a 160 brake motor that turns 70mpg. I guess it's one that turns itself off when you come to a stop?

Don't drive a BMW anymore as I opted out of the car scheme to avoid paying the government extra tax. My employers grumble everytime I turn up to work in a Honda.

Pretty much. £35 road tax too!

My observations concur. A very strong link. I was quite shocked when i was allowed to overtake a 5 series the other day. At legal speeds too.

It took you 15 mins to notice it, and the BMW driver is the "nob"

righto.
Exactly the same as the drivers of just about any other car
Quite.

Although a gap cannot be too small, if it is it ceases to be a gap and becomes an accident, if more people were to get a bloody move on, ie make there own gaps, and leave more of a gap there wouldn't half the congestion there is.

I let folk out if they look like they are paying attention and want to come out, sometimes I just stretch the gap, if they can't be arsed to pull out they're gonna be there all day and I'd rather they were behind me.

I often come across this situation, yesterday I was at a junction waiting to turn left then immediate right into a carpark, behind a few cars waiting to turn right, none of which would move without a written invitation. In the end I just drove round the lot of them to a chorus of horns, none of which were from vehicles within striking distance. I'd parked up and got out and the same car was still at the front of the queue, some folk just have nowhere to go.

Which model is it? How much?

How long would it take to pay for itself if I chopped in my 15mpg motor? :D
