Feel good factor of everyones houses gaining tens of thousands over a year coupled with the banks offering loans and credit to anyone and everyone practically without limits for some has bust the economy...

Now the houses are going backwards and the banks are in deep shit

My suggestion would be for all the banks to close, everyones debt written off, no mortgages and we all start borrowing on the back of houses again That would get the people spending again (Only joking - it would never work!)

Don't get me wrong. We have a mortgage, and are both self employed. So in theory we could end up in the shit. But If I buy stuff I make sure I have the money in the bank to pay for it.

I think having a mortgage is a necessary evil (I had one until 6 weeks ago - I'd saved up enough to pay it off) owing money for cars you cant really afford is daft IMO

Wasnt looking a scape goat at all but im sure you could find a bit of footage from Priministers question time where he is bragging about most stable economic growth in so many years..Bahhh tosser, it was all debt and he knew it.

I blame all those as you say couldnt manage their own finances and borrowed more then they could repay just to keep up with the jones...and just for the record i dont owe fook all and have always been good with money.

Ive never been tempted to borrow money for a new car or anything for that matter. I've only ever bought one if I can afford it outright. And considered to resale value.

I've noticed quite a big ad influx on tv recently for 'finance' cars...

Credit cards are evil
EDIT: Credit cards are fine, it's the banks that are evil for allowing people to have them in the 1st place.
It's Ok to have one, but some people think of the money as their own until the limit is reached and they have to pay it off.
"I can't cope with the re-payments" - Then you shouldn't have spent it in the first fucking place should you.
And then they respond to an advert on TV to declare bankruptcy, therefore the government takes on a big chunk of the debt, and other tax-payers after that.
