SoCal Performance Lab, they advertise on The Samba.

They have what looks like a good setup that fits in the back of a car without having to cut engine lid or valence.

'reasonably priced' turbo motor 'that will last'

There's no guarantees any engine will last long, never mind with a turbo on it. To get a reputable mevhanic isn't difficult but a long lasting turbo motor is not going to be pennies.

Plenty of good engine builders around. The really good ones tend not to need to advertise :)

jmr, vwspeedshop, terrys, stateside are 4 that spring to mind immediately but there are many people capable of building a strong engine.

Preety sure he does as I remember seeing a lovely sealing wax red and black splitty in Volksworld not too long ago. Think it even had a mock-judson badge saying 'turboed by Keene' or something on the fan shroud....could be wrong though lol
