right here goes then;
just bought the rear suspension off a 68 bay to do an irs conversion on my 64 split.
I have (or will have) a dd coded type3 gearbox to fit as well.
Now do i need type3 cv joints at the gearbox end of the drive shafts,bug ones or will the bay ones already attached do the job???
any answers guys?

I `think` the bay ones are a different size, as far as a i remember you need bay ones at the end that goes to the bay suspension and type 1/3(they are the same) at the gearbox end if its a type 3.

im not sure if the drive shafts are a different length though, but i know you can fit beetle and bus ones on one shaft.

Haven't done exactly what you propose, but keep in mind
the CV used on the Type 181 "THING" with IRS.
That mated the large flange size to the smaller shaft,
as I recall.

Yes, Type 1 and 3 CV are the same, as Bugsy said,
and Bay CV are larger.
