Please don't break it

I'll list a few 'tips' on this thread and you guys can let us have any observations/questions/suggestions too. ('Moon on a stick' posters will be told to "fuck off" - Nef's fried his brains on this one - so be 'gentle' )

OK . . . firstly, it's NOT an 'App' . . . it's just a 'lite' browser skin designed to make viewing and posting on VZi quicker and easier on a mobile 'phone. We believe we've pared it down to still leave enough to give the 'VZi Experience' whilst allowing it to be very quick. We'll be interested to hear (read) your thoughts.

We know it works on an iPhone as both Nef and I roll them . . . but it will be nice to hear (read) from Nokia and Blackberry owners, to find out how they get on.

So . . . here's how to 'activate' it . . .

1) Go to your 'phone's browser and log in to VZi as you'd normally do.

2) Scroll down to the bottom lilac/purple bar (the one that has 'Contact Us' and 'Volkszone' in) . . . on the lefthand side you'll find a drop down box . . . zoom in on this, click (press) and select 'Mobile' . . . et voila! (If you need to get back to the full version of VZi, there's a 'Normal Version' button at the bottom of every screen (in the purple bar) and we've made it so it takes you to (keeps you in) the page you were viewing.

And that is about it!

A couple of quick tips:

Tapping the 'Volkszone Mobile' logo will always take you back to the Forums Directory.

Once in a Forum, tapping the thread title will take you to the first post, tapping the little blue 'arrow' logo (>) on the righthand side will take you to the last page (NOT the last post - use the 'Reply' button to take you to the foot of the page and scroll back a few mm for the 'last post'.)

Once in a thread, tapping the purple 'Reply' button will take you to the bottom of the page (to the 'quick reply' box - and the 'Forum Jump' pulldown just below it) and we've added a 'Return To Top' which will take you back to the top of the page and help avoid a lot 'greasy finger' scrolling (as we had to do whilst working on it.)

You can send and reply to PMs, but if you want to 'forward' a PM, you'll need to go to the normal/full fat version (the code that 'quotes'/'includes' the original message (that you'd be forwarding) was just to messy/heavy and we figured forwarding PMs wasn't exactly something you'd be doing every five minutes anyway.) We may look at this again (with clearer heads) but in the meantime, that's how it is, I'm afraid. I don't think it's a big issue anyway.

Signatures do not appear. Avatars do.

Please have a play and give us some feedback ('Moon on a stick' notwithstanding ) . . . I'll do my best to answer any queries.

REMEMBER - If you find you can't do something in the Mobile/Lite version, just click 'normal version' and the screen will refresh in the exact same place you were - including replying to a post etc.
