Wanted for my 1971 Beetle 1300.

Window winder mechanism for the left hand side (mine just turns and does sod all).

Standard steering wheel. Not after anything like an expensive Flat 4 wheel or anything, just a standard 1200 or 1300 black plain steering wheel, no cracks (he he!). I missed one for £8.50 on eBay yesterday cos I forgot to put in another bid!

PM me.

Cheers,
Graham.

Hi Graham,
I've got winder mechanisms for both sides from a bug i broke up several years back. Also got a choice of different steering wheels including a plain black 1200 wheel (from a 74 car), a mid sixties- early 70's wheel with the D shaped metal horn push (no centre push button) & a couple of plain black Wolfsburg safety type wheels.
I'll check them all for cracks & send pics if your interested.

jacksrestobug - not sure really, just the L/H winder mechanism turns and does nothing. This is the first Bug I've owned so not really sure what the differences are.

+CountVladdy+ - yeah, that would be great, thanks. My email is:

I *might* be going to Stonor Park if that helps. I'm also looking for some original tinware for a 1971 1300 as mine's got aftermarket stuff on that doesn't fit that well.

Cheers.

...........or if anyone wants to swap the 13" (I think - I'll measure it later) wheel that's on mine for a standard Beetle size plain black early-mid '70's wheel? I'll throw an original horn ring (worth a few quid on eBay I reckon) in as well.

Let me know so we can sort something out.

Steering wheels & winder mechanism

Hi Graham. Sorry for the delay.
Below are pics of the wheels i have & the winder mechanism.

Four spoke safety wheel on far left. Generally good condition but has a one or two cracks £4 to clear. Easy to repair though with epoxy putty (milliput). Will send you some if you want this wheel :)

Middle wheel is a mid sixties to early seventies wheel with chrome D-shaped horn push. No central horn push button though. Minor marks. Have partly polished the metal horn push bar up. Comes up really nice, nice wheel overall. £12

Wheel on far right is from my 1974 1200 beetle. Has some minor wear especially around horn push button. Again a nice wheel. £8

All wheels are made by VDM and are standard vw beetle wheels. The first wheel fits the later style of steering column, you would need an adaptor boss to fit it.

Close up pic of the last wheel. This would probably be your best bet.

Windor winder mechanism L/H side. VW part number 111-837-501/H
Works fine, tested it today :) £8.

Cheers,
