Bought som weber ICT's recently and the air filters have what looks like heat elements in them. They're flat pancake style filters. The element is inside the filter assembly in a question-mark shaped metal pipe that curves around the air aperture.

Has anyone come across these before? Not sure if they're 12volt as there only seems to be one wire/cable coming out.

Hmm...

Interesting. Could be electric anti-icing?

Experiment.
Earth the sheath and connect (+) 12V to the single lead.

If only get luke-warm, could be intended for aircraft @ 24V.

I had a reece-fish carb on a Bug in the 80's - it also had a heater element in the air filter - little difference whether it was on or off, still got icing occasionally
