....fitting a GT (r/p) diff to a 1500 box?

I have both and I dont know the history of the GT box or if its worth building up on its own with short axles.

I was thinking of a 1500 box with GT (AS) diff (R&P) with short axles.

Would it act like a realy tall 4th gear with GT 1st,2nd and 3rd?

ThanQ in advance :D

Yes.

Be aware, though, that running that kind of set-up could cause your engine to run hotter at Motorway speeds. This was only ever used in Ghias, which seemed to have a more effecient supply of air to the engine bay.

ThanQ for that :D

Would standoffs or remote oil cooler overcome the overheating?

Yeah anything like that will help. The thing is with taller gears is your fan is going slower at higher speeds because of the lower rpm. Thats why it may get a wee bit hotter.
