What oil to use when breaking in a new engine

Hi all, I've built myself a new 1600 engine but am unsure on what oil to use to do the first engine run.
Will straight 30 oil be OK?
Cheers all

Running in oil, Millers for instance but there is plenty of choice. Millers Oils Classic Running In Oil 30
I've always used the same oil I use for normal running. Then drain and refill after a hundred miles or so to check for any metal bits in there.

As above.
I've used both Millers CRO and Penzrite running in oil, both have >1000ppm of ZDDP and offer good synthetic oils for once ring seating is complete
Just regular 20w50 from Wilco's. Change it after 100 miles then again after another 500 and you're good to go.
Hi all thats for all the replies and sorry for not getting back to you all. I lost my phone and its my only device I have to get me on line.

Don't forget to remove the plugs and spin the motor on the starter until the oil light goes out. I hope you at least oiled all the bearings on assembly or better still used assembly lube ;)

🤣🤣🤣 yes I used assembly lube and spun the motor over with plugs removed to make sure I had oil pressure 👍
