What was the best year for the Karmann Ghia?

Looks-wise, perfomance-wise, whatever-you-choose-wise?!

For me I'd have to choose the late 60's just before the big-bumpers came in - best of both worlds then in looks and performance ;)

I do like the look of a nice low-light though:)

Looks wise it will always be the Lowlight for me.

But everything else from the later Ghias like 12v, Disc Brakes etc etc.

67 - my 67 rhd coupe has 12v electrics, disc brakes and 1500 engine - plus a few 6 month only parts like seat back locks operated by opening the door ( same as type 3 ghia) but still has fuel filler in the tank under the bonnet rather than the ugly external filler flap they added in 68 ��
