mine's a 71, and the back lights are bigger. Safty regulations said they were to be changed, due to being easier to be seen on the road. That was 69, I think.

I'm no expert but it looks like a 1200 basic model, with the blade bumpers and smaller back lights. Four stud wheels, small bonnet upright lights and the fact that it's a K reg make it a 71/72

...1200 - smaller rear lights and blade bumpers.

Justin.
they made 1200's ? That's going to help my insurance!

did they do a 1202s by any chance :D
I don't think so, although that engine lid suggests otherwise.

It's a '72 1200, the engine lid is a Brazillian replacement item. Case closed. Next?

I'd be surprised if the difference between a 1200 model and your 1300/1600 model is of any significance at all to be honest. the modifications you make to the car will make a much bigger difference.

the 1202s comment has me lost to be honest.. The '1303' and '1302' models were not named based on engine size. I'm not overly knowledgable on this kind of thing to be honest, so I hope I've helped a wee bit
The giveaway that it's a 70's Bug is the small indentations behind the rear side windows (where there's normally additional cresent moon-shaped intakes on 1300-up models)

BTW, 1302 and 1303 models had 1300cc engines, 1302S and 1303S models had 1600cc engines. The only reason why there wasn't a 1301 was due to Alfa Romeo already having a 1301 model.

I think the 13xx model designation had already been associated with "deluxe" so they never bothered with a 1202, 1203 etc etc.
Probably that daft wizard floating about...i reckon more than a few minutes in his company could send me into a psychotic rage! :D
