I need to fit Wheelie bars to my type 2 shorty. I want it to wheelie still but not do any damage. Where would I mount the bars to? I can mount part to where the bumper used to mount or engine mount but where would the other mount go? Not got or made any yet so any help. Thanks :hangloose

most mount to rear gear box mount

-i wouldnt mount them to the bumper mount if thats what u mean...

-best place is underneath the rear gearbox mount, weld on a piece of box section steal and mount to that....this will also drop the bars low enough to clear a merged header.

-are you going to fabricate bars?

Thought that would be too far back? I've never looked at any on a beetle an never seen any in a bay.

Was thinking of fabricating some. Bad Idea?
