I am putting the wiring loom back into my '71 1200 bug after its restoration.

I have a new headlamp relay which I don't know which wires to connect to the terminals. The relay terminals are marked, 56,56a, 56b, 30, S.

From wiring diagrams I have I think 56 goes to 56 on the light switch. From searches on this forum I think 56a connects to the white full beam wire and 56b to the yellow, what connects to 30 and S.

Also on the light switch what connects to two 57 terminals and the 58 terminal.

Thanks.

Thanks,

Have you any links to good wiring diagrams, I am struggling with diagrams that don't have all the information on at the mo.

Download this one at Vintage Bus:

It should be exactly what you have.

Term #30 is a live-always feed for the headlamp flash function.

Term "S" is the skinny Brw/Wh from the stalk dip switch.

"F" on the relay in the diagram is Full beam. That must be 56a
on your relay.

Term #58 on the switch is for the Gry wire to the fuses
for side and rear lights.
Term #57 not used.

My loom is slightly different, being a European '71 1200 it only has 10 fuses and the US spec seems to have some extra features. I have found a similar diagram for my car on the vintage bus site, it just doesn't have switch terminals labeled.

With help I am getting the connections worked out and I should be ready for testing it soon.

Thanks
