XBox Vs PS2?

So im looking on ebay (i am really bored, its the one stop shop) and i was thinking about entertainment for the van(when its done) originally i asked the question which is better, people seemed to say Xbox so i was looking on ebay and thought hmm cheap, some are like 30 quid with 2 games and a controller, i thought i`d have a look at PS2s while i was surfing, averaging a 50 quid start price

is there any reason why this is so, is there some major fault with first generation Xboxes?

probly cause most people getting rid of xbox to upgrade to xbox 360? just a thought.

The PS2 still has loads of games being released for it whereas the Xbox is not nearly as well supported anymore. That is why there is still a high demand for PS2s.

To the best of my knowledge, there are no hardware issues with any Xboxes (except the broken ones).

Get a secondhand Xbox and mod it

I think a slimline PS2 wld fit in a van better as its about the size of a dvd case, however, xbox has hard drive (8gb) and can good for stick all your cds on. An xbox is higher spec than a ps2 by far, bout 4 x better in terms of power. However, its is the size of the biggest George Foreman grill thing. Hence the emergency detachable controller lead so it didnt fall and crush the kids, lol. I think the PS2 always had more games than anything but I bought an xbox and found better graphics and gameplay. It does and will get all the big titles for sure, Microsoft are going to support it for atleast the next 4 yrs, they state on the xbox website this so it must be true (think it was more yrs to be honest!). If you want better performance get xbox. If you want more games and bit smaller get PS2 (Note more games dont equal more good games, maybe xbox cherry pick the best ones)

Microsoft will support it till '07, third party studios? Who knows

Just buy both!

Personally, I've got a 360, PS2, GC, PSP, DS and PC and the only thing I really play is the 360, before that I only really played the XBox. It all depends what sort of game you're after as each system excels at a specific type of market. XBox was seen as the more 'hard core' system, GC was the 'kiddie' system, PS2 the 'catch all' etc...

Personally, I'd go with the XBox - newer technology, better GFX. Good enough for me

Edit: IIRC the very early XBoxes had dodgy Toshiba DVD drives. That being said I had a Day 1 Xbox and it's working fine to this day. My 9 month old 360 died the other month...

dam i already have the george foreman grill as a spoiler on my beetle lol i dont want one in the van too :lol:

size wise isnt to much of an issue, im not really a consoles person really, i dont play a great deal of games if im honest, but i want something in the van to use as a DVD player and to play games on would be a bonus, as like at VW action it was evil weather!

i guess i really need some teaching about Xboxs for the van :tick:

just looking into it for now, i guess about 2 weeks after Xmas will be the time to buy 10 for 1p on ebay lol
