Milton Keynes, England

Up for sale, 4no. standard 4x130PCD beetle steel wheels.

I've owned these since 2013 when I bought my beetle but they've never been fitted, the 5th became the spare wheel for the Baja currently, hence only 4 available.

The tyres have tread and seem to hold air, so would be useful for moving a vehicle off-road, or temporary use, I wouldn't recommend them for on-road without new tyres being fitted.

I don't need them, and the missus has said they're taking up space so need to go. Collection in Milton Keynes or could possibly drop off locally/for a fee.

Hi, I'm looking for a set of late Beetle steel wheels, 4½ J x 15, with the Offset ET41.

These numbers should be stamped into the raised sections between the bolt holes, probably hidden by paint, but if you could have a closer look and let me know, if they are what I need, I'm interested. Thanks Bada Ben.

So found the rim size but actually putting a tape across it is 5 1/2 inches? Probably not helpful, especially as i can't locate the offset. Ive checked 3 wheels and sanded bits down to try and find it but to no avail. Could try and work it out? It seems to measure 10cm from the mating face to the inside edge. Makes the ET 31 I think?

Sorry!
Thank You very much. If you carry on sanding you will probably find that each wheel has a Date stamp too :)
looks like this :

The "ET" measurement, (meaning "Pressed Depth"), is in millimeters, from the hub mating face to the centreline of the rim, so it is possible to work it out from your measurements, (I make it 40 mm).

VW made wheels with different 'Pressed Depth' for different vehicles, and depending on the specification, (it only changed by a few millimeters, so difficult to measure accurately).
I have a 1967 and a 1970 wheel, both are 4J x 15, and neither have any "ET" markings, I think they only started marking them with that on later models.
However, I'm looking for the 4½ J x 15 version which was fitted to Beetles after 1973, with "Negative Roll/Scrub Radius" geometry, (the ET41 marking will confirm if they are the ones I want, but more importantly, that all the wheels have the same offset).
Sorry to put you to so much effort, at least other buyers have the extra info now, and it may help to sell them.
Thanks again & good luck with the sale.

Yeah no problem, I guess it might have helped had I said the beetle is '69, but there's no guarantee the wheels are the same age! I did find the VW stamp, but there is a lot of paint so I doubt it would be that visible haha!

Thanks, I did make the first calculation as 39/40 (depending on how it rounded) but then figured I'd worked it out wrong, so edited it, at least it was the same as you got.
