...as per title.

The mrs new mk 4 golf estate doesn't seem to have a buzzer if the lights are left on, and neither does the interior light come on when you open the drivers door???

Is it the sensor that's had it; I can't find a manual push button in the doorframe like on the olders dubs.

Thanks all

Phil

could be the lock but some Mk4's have a diode in the woring loom in the door behind the card, it is taped into the loom is about 2 inches long and is about half way along the loom usually blue in colour, they are available seperately and will give this fault if it is faulty, however as i said they dont all have them fitted but it is worth a look first as they are a lot cheaper than a door latch assembly

Hey my partner has a mk 4 golf gt tdi and seems to just have the problem with the buzzer not warning her that she's left her lights on unfortunatly she had to find this out the hard way by finding her battery flat after leaving her side lights on... does anyone know what this problem could be? thanks

Hey looked and read that thread that you pointed out but i do think that this does not seem to be my partners problem... she does not have any problem with the door locks its self. The problem being that when her side/headlights are on and the engine is switched off and drivers door is open she does not get a warning sound. thanks

Has the car ever done this or has it just been happening recently? Do you have another golf or Bora owned by a friend that you can try their headlight switch in?

Get someone with vag com to check the soft coding on the CCM. The chime can be coded in and out as far as I know. If it's not activated in the software it'll never work.
