slight bump for this one...

 

IIRC, the small one is 3mm ID. For the fatter breather hoses, try this and this from VW Heritage. Check them first though - the photo of the first one looks like the 90º elbow but the title says 45º and neither lists the ID.

Failing that, I bought this kit from Mid-America years ago when they were the only supplier in the world I could find who stocked the hoses in any format and it did the trick.

i'm having the exactly the same issue, smells of petrol when i go round a sharp laft hand corner.... and i dont fill it more then half full cos of this.

that very small hose is probably the same as spill off hose, i'll take mine off tomorrow and have a look, will stop in at a local car shop and see if they stock it.

is coolant hoses rated for use with fuel?

Cross referencing the Heritage part number of the "45 degree" pipe with Status and it actually comes up with this:-

133 201 179 Vent hose on the fuel filler neck. For 1302 and 1303 models only 71-79.

I think I might need this instead:-

The hose size is 15x2.5mm and 4x2.5mm. Any good hydraulic hose specialist (Yellow Pages)will have fuel hose to match, at around half the cost of the usual suspects.

 

so any 15mm ID fuel rated hose?

I would say so, 15 mm I.D and 2.5mm refers to the thickness of it (I assume)

I haven't had any luck tracking any down, let me know if you find any (local auto place here can't get hold of any that large)

I bought some regular hose for the rest of the car from http://www.advancedfluidsolutions.co.uk/ but they don't do 15mm I.D so got stuck.

 

my local auto parts place has 16mm but they didnt do 15, nor did a pipe place near by, about to try ebay

There's thin rubber sealing rings between the main 'fat' hoses and the metal pipe sections from the filler at the top of your photo. If these have perished then you might be getting fuel smells from there as well.

 

i siliconed mine and no change.... got some pipe coming though

 

has it sorted it Andy? I'm about to order some of that pipe in my link.

I have a set of new rubber seals for the main pipe that need fitting too, got those from Status.

you dont need the 90 degree piece, straight bit will bend fine.
