info on scat/mallory 45 020/yl541hp distributors

Hi does anyone have the advance tools and or spring set. For the scat/Mallory/ treuhaft distributor?
Or any literature/information for set up
I just bought one but can't find much out there.

Looks like not much info out there, so I'll post all I can find on this thread.
So its all in one place.
Firstly there are a few types that apear to be the same.
Mallory make the YL-541-HP in two types single and duel points.
I have the single type so most info will apply to these.
There are also
The scat -45-020
Treuhaft 010
And Mr gasket
They all apear to be the same in most details.
The cap and rotor are from a 1940's 4 cylinder Jeep
( not sure on points yet).
The benefits of using these seam 4 fold
1, the points cam profile is allegedly a kinder grind to resist points bounce at high revs.
2, the cap is on wider centres than a stock vw cap, to resist tracking and spark jumping.
3, the total Max advance is adjustable.
4, (with a spring kit) the advance curve is adjustable. In single or two stage.
The down side seams to be that on this side of the pond the bits are scarce, but I'veffound a supplier on eBay( I'll post part numbers later)
Plus these days full programmable units are available.
My reasoning is I've found 009 to give too poor idle (lack of advance) or too much high up. And these can now be picked up cheaply. I will also post up results as I try this on my motor.
