do you mean an oil temperature gauge ?

i would like to have som sort of temp system but was thinking off cyilinder head temp.


would would you do?

 

im just putting in a temperature sender off the sump, linked up to a autometer gauge in the front (bay crewcab)

 

Don't get one which uses a capillary pipe from the engine to the guage, they are a bad idea even in a front engined car. Get one which is designed for a VW, VDO or similar, with a sender unit on the engine, feeding a signal to the guage via a wire. Easy to fit, and safer.
There's an Oil Temperature guage which works in the same way, with a sender unit which goes down the dipstick tube

 

What he said ^^. Generally the sender unit will replace your oil pressure switch and have two terminals, one for the guage and one for the warning light already in your speedo. Easy as that.

 

thank you this sounds great. i would realy like a smiths one to match my other gadges . do you know were the best place to get these senders from?
