I would say right as well, as the wheel on the inside of the turn goes through a tighter (smaller) radius than the wheel on the outside of the turn circle.
Could be either, depends how the joint is worn. Get it up on a jack and see if it does it when you spin the wheel, or if you get free play in either wheel. If not, then drive round with your windows down or someone on the outside of the car (not ON the car, just next to it will suffice! ). Or, go to a good garage and just ask them which one is buggered!
I agree, it sounds like a CV. In my experience the usual cause is a split gaiter so check that first as is said it could be either one thats failed.
